How To Calculate FTE (Full
Time Equivalent) in Oracle HRMS
Concept:
An FTE (Full- Time Equivalent) count in the business environment
refers to the number of employees full-time Positions.
A Full Time Position Generally Corresponds to 40 Working
hours Per Week.
For Example:
You Can Calculate the FTE count for two
Part-time Employees if one works 2.5 Hours Per Day and the Second Works 1460
Hours Per Year.
FTE Calculation
1) For First Employee
-> Calculate the Number of Working Hours Per Week for First
Employee.
2.5(working Hour Per Day) * 5(Working Days in a Week) = 12.5
Hours in a Week
-> Now Divide number of Hours Worked in a Week by Total Hours
of a Week.
12.5 (Employee Working Hour in a Week) / 40 (Number of Total
Working hours in a Week) = 0.313 FTE
2) For Second Employee
-> Calculate Total Number of Hours in a Year
40 (Hours Per Week) * 52 (weeks
in a year) = 2080 Hours Per Year
-> Divide Second Employee Total Working hours in a Week by
Total Hours of a Year
1460 ( Employee Working hours in
a year ) / 2080 (Number of Hours in a Year) = 0.702 FTE
Final FTE
FTE = 0.313 (For First Employee) + 0.702 (For Second Employee) =
1.015
